Helping the Health Data Research Service to Deliver Success

The use MY data Position Statement on the establishment of the Health Data Research Service

In June 2025 we wrote to a range of key national leaders and stakeholders, on behalf of the Members of use MY data to welcome the announcement of the Health Data Research Service (HDRS).  

We attached use MY data’s Position Statement, which outlines how involving patients will help to make the HDRS a success.  The Position statement is available here, or by clicking the image to the right.

To highlight the concluding paragraph of our Position Statement: 

“It is our data and our health, so we are offering our own services to the HDRS, to Wellcome and to the Government, to make sure that patients are involved at the outset in planning, describing and promoting the potential benefits, the processes and the safeguards, and in developing a robust, comprehensible, clear and open transparency framework to retain public trust.”

Our letter said that we would welcome a meeting to explore how best patients can be involved in designing and delivering the new service, and to ensure that patient representation is embedded into its structures and processes.
